EVERY CHILD NEEDS SUMMER CAMP
Lindsay Siple
Scholarship Fund
On July 13, 2022, Lindsay Siple, a dedicated mother in the Dreamwood community, passed away from Breast Cancer following a lengthy illness.
Lindsay had a passion for children's physical and mental health, a core focus of the early years of her career in health literacy. This passion is part of the reason Lindsay loved Camp Dreamwood. The other reason being how appreciative she was of the experiences Dreamwood provided for her three young daughters, both at camp and virtually during the pandemic.
Camp Dreamwood holds a special place in the hearts of the Siple family for these reasons. Lindsay's two eldest children were also at Camp Dreamwood when she passed. Ashley and team sprung to action to support the girls as they were picked up and headed home to be with their family in an incredibly difficult time.
To honour Lindsay and her love of Camp Dreamwood, as well as a way for the Siple & Davies families to say thank you for the amazing support they have received over the years (especially last summer), a scholarship fund is being established in Lindsay's name to help send kids to Camp Dreamwood who otherwise would not be able to attend.

Sponsorship Program
At Dreamwood we believe that every child needs summer camp and we work hard to make sure that as many children as possible can experience camp. We offer flexible payment plans, early-bird discounts, sibling discounts, and a camper sponsorship program for those who need it.
Over the past five summers, we have sponsored over 300 campers & leaders-in-training, most of whom have joined us for all five summers. We see firsthand the importance of this program for our camp and the sponsored campers, especially as they go on to become treasured members of our staff. Our sponsorship program is for those families who are financially unable to provide their children with the summer camp experience, based on both a family's income & story.
If you are interested in applying for our sponsorship program, please fill out our application which closes on October 31st, 2024.
how can you help?
Every summer a large number of campers board the bus for an experience like no other. These campers, thanks to your generous support, will spend a week with new friends experiencing new things they wouldn't have been able to be a part of without you. Thanks to you they will be able to grow confidence and feel a sense of belonging that every child deserves. Every child should get the chance to go to summer camp, and with your help, we can make that happen.
MONthly giving
A monthly donation no matter how small or large is a great way to help us plan for how many campers we will be able to sponsor each year. Whether it be $5 a month or $50 we are so grateful for all of the support we receive. Our monthly donors will receive monthly updates on how their donations are helping Dreamwood.
ONE-TIME DONATION
A one-time donation is another great way to help Dreamwood. For $1,000 you can sponsor a camper to attend one week of camp. We will make sure they have a ride to camp on our coach bus, get a tuck shop card, sleeping bag and all of the necessities to make their week away everything they wanted and more.
scholarship fund
The Kathy Drab Scholarship Fund was created in honour of an amazing woman & supporter of Dreamwood. It is awarded to one student from St.Kevin CS to attend camp. The Friar David Sucking Memorial Fund is in honour of one of the most important people to walk the earth. It is awarded to one camper with special needs.
"I can't say enough good things! Ashley and her staff have create a home away from home for our kids.
This was my daughters first year attending Camp Dreamwood and she is super excited about next year! She said the counsellors were awesome, activities were so much fun (she loved them all and can't pick a favourite), and she even complimented the food, which surprised me as my girl doesn't eat all that much. She said it was the best time & she wants to attend 2 weeks next year!
It's a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating from my little camper!"
My son Cole presents with a language delay and on the spectrum. It took every fibre of my being to send half my heart away for the week but I did so knowing that they were in AMAZING and capable hands with Ashley's incredible Team. This week away pushed my boys past their comfort zones - learning new things and most importantly - learning new things about themselves. Cole came home with confidence that he could do ANYTHING he set his mind to - both definitely came home with a little extra swagger ;). THANK YOU Camp Dreamwood - see you next summer!! ox
