Camp Closure

Camp Dreamwood Families,

Over the past 6 years, we have watched Dreamwood grow into a home away from home for so many of our campers and staff. We have grown not only as individuals but as a family. We have grown because you have loved and supported us and made this dream come true.

It is with a heavy heart we inform you Camp Dreamwood will not be operating in-person camps for summer 2020. As many of you may have heard, the Ontario government has announced overnight camps will not be allowed to operate this summer. While this brings us all a lot of sadness, we respect the decision and understand the importance of all of our camper’s safety.

In the practice of transparency and honesty, we are 100% confident in the return of Camp Dreamwood; we will make sure of that. We do however want to be completely honest that a summer without Dreamwood poses a lot of financial uncertainty for us that we can overcome with your help.

Families will be offered three options in regards to their camp payments. Parents who have not yet made their payments are still able to do so and rollover your payments to the 2021 season.

1. Rollover of your payments to Camp Dreamwood 2021 (any and all programming) will allow you to lock in the 2020 price and secure your spot.

2. Donation of your camp fees or a portion of your fees to help contribute to the ongoing financial commitment that Dreamwood has and to help us through this uncertain time. This will allow you to lock in the 2020 price and secure your spot for 2021. (the rest of your fees can be rolled over to 2021)

3. Full Refund of fees paid. We understand this is a difficult time for many families and will work with families to get refunds to them as soon as possible. We will begin to process refunds based on immediate needs first.

Please fill out this google form to let us know what option you would like to choose.

No matter which option you choose please know that you are a vital part of the Dreamwood family and we are here for you and your campers all the same.

Please reach out if you or your campers have any questions or just need to talk. Stay tuned to hear about what we will be doing to stay connected with all of you this summer including more virtual camps and cabin chats for campers registered for 2020.

We miss all of you already and hope you are all staying safe. We will not look behind but look ahead to what will be an amazing 2021. As always our number one priority is our campers and we will do everything in our power to ensure they have somewhere to call home when it is safe to gather.

Sending all our love,

Ashley, Madison, Justin

PS: Dreamwood still has the dream of having our own home and we won’t stop until that happens.

"My son came back from Camp Dreamwood a changed person. We were blown away by his enthusiasm as he described his time there. He came back with a strong sense of belonging & full of inspiration to be a better person!"

- Katrina D.

"My daughter who suffers from high anxiety did not have one episode while away at overnight camp. Her pictures of her confidence and acceptance in the community of total integration with no judgement made me proud to be a part of Camp Dreamwood"
