ADVENTURE AWAITS YOUR CAMPER

GETTING READY FOR CAMP

Camp is one of the very best places to spend your summer. Year after year, we have many returning campers as well as new campers at Dreamwood. All camper families will have the opportunity to attend an information meeting before camp as well as an information package including a checklist for packing. Here are a few things to keep in mind when preparing for your summer at camp:

  • A camp is a place like Miss.Frizzle says to, "take chances, make mistakes, get messy". We recommend that parents pack clothing that they don't mind getting wet and dirty

  • Labelling all of your camper's clothing is a great way to ensure your camper comes home with all of the clothing they brought to camp

  • Even though campers may only be at camp for a week they will definitely love to receive mail. You can send us mail for your campers and stationery so they can write back, we can email you a copy of the letter if camps are at camp for one week or mail it if they are at camp for longer. You can send care packages as long as it is camp friendly

  • We know that sending your child to camp for the first time can be nerve-racking for both parents and campers. If you have any questions about camp we would be happy to set up a phone or zoom call to talk more about your campers stay

Frequently asked questions

How long has dreamwood been around?

Camp Dreamwood has been around since 2015. We started out with a dream and 30 campers and staff members who boarded the bus for a life-changing week. We came back better people and ready to make the world a better & more inclusive place. We have grown to 3 weeks and over 100 campers and staff members a week and we can't wait to welcome your campers into our Dreamwood family!

What is your camper-to-staff ratio?

Our camper-to-staff ratio is 1:3.

Do campers need to sign up for their daily activities?

Campers do not need to sign up for their daily activities like other overnight summer camps. We are proud to offer the same experience for all of our campers. Campers travel with activity groups throughout camp for their daily activities & everyone comes together for the evening program.

Can camp accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions

Our kitchen staff can prepare and accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions. We ask that this information be provided on the campers health form and sent to camp prior to their arrival at camp. Our kitchen and camp are also nut-free.

Can you administer medication at camp?

We can absolutely administer prescription and over-the-counter medication at camp and we take this job very seriously. We ask that you fill out the proper information on the health forms so that we can make the proper accommodations for your camper.

is there a camp nurse?

All of our staff are trained in first aid and CPR and we will also be hiring a camp nurse this summer due to Covid 19. We are close to local walk-in clinics and hospitals in the event that your camper needs medical attention that can not be given at camp.
